Hello, my name is Stefania, and I have been working as an Outreach Advocate for the Modern Slavery Response Team at Hestia for the last 4 months. My first two weeks consisted of training, and after that, I was assigned my first clients!
On my average day of work, I start the day off by checking my emails and messages on my and then I look over my to-do list and get started on tasks that I consider top priority. Some weeks of the month my schedule is filled with face-to-face keywork session meetings and others are filled with more administrative work such as completing reports, forms or liaising with external and internal services. Some days are filled with phoning or messaging my clients and others with completing casework, advocacy or facilitating support tasks on behalf of my clients.
The most fulfilling part of the job is working with some of the most vulnerable individuals of our society, and helping them to overcome difficulties, while empowering them to become more independent. Also, I can say with certainty that I am grateful to be able to work and interact alongside a very dedicated, resourceful, and hardworking team of colleagues, and to have a very knowledgeable, supportive team leader to guide me throughout my time at Hestia.
