We are Hestia. We make a difference.

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for an Intervention Officer to play a pivotal role in our Criminal Justice Service in Streatham

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

This role involves supporting high-risk residents in a psychologically informed and enabling environment. You will act as a keyworker, coordinating all aspects of a resident's stay, offering intensive casework, and helping deliver sentence plans alongside probation, police, and other agencies. You'll model pro-social behaviour and maintain a respectful culture while actively engaging with residents through daily interactions, including shared tasks like preparing meals. Key responsibilities include enforcing curfews and testing protocols, carrying out daily operational tasks, maintaining health, safety, and hygiene, and ensuring all records are accurate and timely. You'll provide admin support, collaborate with colleagues and partners, respond flexibly to emerging issues, and ensure that service delivery aligns with Hestia policies and Ministry of Justice requirements—all while upholding the values of The Hestia Approach.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

Here's what the team will be looking for

You will need a strong understanding of safeguarding practices and experience in keyworking individuals with offending histories, delivering effective interventions to support positive behavioural change. A solid grasp of the causes and consequences of offending is essential, along with the ability to empower individuals toward desistance. Effective communication, flexibility, and the ability to build trust while maintaining clear professional boundaries are key. You should be able to handle sensitive information accurately and confidentially, understand the effects of trauma, and work constructively with individuals who present challenging behaviours. Strong teamwork, a practical hands-on attitude, and excellent literacy and numeracy skills are also vital. The role requires quick learning, sound judgement, and a hopeful outlook on people's ability to change and grow.

Interview Steps

We keep our interview process simple, so you know exactly what to expect.
