We are Hestia. We make a difference.

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Pool Worker to play a pivotal role in our Mental Health Service in Islington.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

As a Pool Worker, you will provide person-centred support to service users through one-to-one sessions, helping them develop wellness recovery action plans, safety plans, and strategies that promote wellbeing and independence. You will maintain accurate and timely records of all support provided, interventions delivered, and outcomes achieved, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with service standards. Working closely with local services and community organisations, you will signpost and refer individuals to appropriate sources of support to meet their needs. You will build positive relationships with external stakeholders, facilitate wellbeing and recovery-focused groups, support service users on their recovery journey, and contribute to the ongoing development, promotion, and success of the service.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

In this role, you will need a strong understanding of recovery-focused practice and a commitment to supporting individuals through a range of recovery approaches that promote wellbeing, resilience, and independence. You will be able to work effectively both as part of a team and on your own initiative, while supporting the induction of new peer staff and volunteers where required. A good awareness of health and safety and safeguarding responsibilities is essential, alongside the ability to respond appropriately to concerns. You should possess strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet-based systems, and be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
