We are Hestia. We make a difference.
At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Team Leader to play a pivotal role in our Domestic Abuse team in Wandsworth & Richmond
Sounds great, what will I be doing?
The Team Leader role supports the Service Manager in ensuring the delivery of a consistent, high-quality service to women and children fleeing domestic abuse, in line with Hestia's mission and strategic objectives, as well as relevant legislation. A key part of the role involves providing strong leadership to the staff team—offering day-to-day direction, guidance, and support, as well as overseeing team performance through supervision, appraisals, and training opportunities.
The postholder will coordinate closely with external agencies such as health professionals, schools, housing providers, and police to ensure a joined-up, person-centred approach to support. They will play a vital role in service co-production, ensuring that women and children are meaningfully involved in shaping the services they receive. The role also includes responsibility for maintaining accurate and confidential records, preparing monitoring reports, organising in-house training, participating in the emergency on-call rota, and fostering external partnerships to enhance awareness and response to domestic abuse within the community.
What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.
Here's what the team will be looking for:
You will have experience in promoting and developing service user involvement and co-production, along with the ability to effectively manage staff. You will have worked within multi-agency settings and be aware of the risks associated with domestic abuse in a professional environment. You will also be confident in using computer-based systems to accurately record work and client information, and willing to participate in the out-of-hours emergency on-call rota.
You will demonstrate excellent knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children, as well as a solid understanding of safeguarding procedures and how to address them appropriately. You will have knowledge of legal, statutory, regulatory, and best practice requirements in supported housing, as well as a working understanding of housing law, welfare benefits, and legal remedies available to women experiencing domestic violence.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills will be essential, along with the ability to manage complex tasks and produce clear, accurate records and reports within defined timeframes.
