We are Hestia. We make a difference.

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Team Manager to play a pivotal role in our Domestic Abuse service in Ealing

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

This is a leadership and management role responsible for overseeing a multidisciplinary team, including Refuge Workers, Floating Support Workers, and a Children & Family Worker, within a service supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse. The postholder will ensure the service is responsive to the needs of service users and meets contractual and policy requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

The role involves managing and developing staff through supervision, training, and performance oversight, while fostering a supportive and collaborative team culture. A strong focus is placed on safeguarding, ensuring all procedures are rigorously followed to maintain the safety and wellbeing of women and children in the service. The postholder will also lead service co-production efforts, ensuring service users are actively involved in planning and delivery.

Operational Duties:

This includes maintaining high standards of housing provision, ensuring all health, safety, and maintenance procedures are adhered to, and that the environment remains welcoming and secure. The manager will also be responsible for budget management, service evaluation, and producing high-quality monitoring reports for stakeholders. Strong partnership working with local authorities and other agencies is essential to ensure holistic support for clients.

Administrative and Strategic Oversight:

The role demands accurate record-keeping, regular review of documentation, and the use of feedback to drive service improvements. The postholder will represent the organisation at multi-agency meetings and manage internal communications, ensuring policies and best practices are consistently applied. Participation in the out-of-hours on-call rota is also required.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

Here's what the team will be looking for

You must have excellent knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children and experience providing both emotional and practical support to those affected. Experience managing accommodation-based and outreach services is essential, along with a strong commitment to promoting service user involvement and co-production.

The role requires experience working within multi-agency settings, advocating for service users, and understanding the risks associated with domestic violence. A thorough knowledge of legal, statutory, and good practice frameworks related to supported housing, including housing law, welfare benefits, and legal remedies for domestic violence survivors, is crucial.

Proven skills in team management, budget oversight, and meeting organisational and funders' KPIs are necessary. Candidates should demonstrate excellent time management, multitasking, delegation abilities, and the capacity to build and maintain effective multi-agency partnerships.

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required, alongside the ability to manage complex tasks within deadlines and maintain accurate records. Experience with computer-based case management systems and a good understanding of health and safety and safeguarding policies are also vital. The role includes participation in an out-of-hours emergency on-call rota.

Please note this position is open to female applicants only, in line with Section 7(2) b & e of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.
